Kula Empowered's mobile application was developed to assist caregivers in discovering ways to speak with their child about how to stay safe physically, and emotionally. Kula Empowered envisions a community where children are free from victimization and harm.

Kula Empowered focuses on bridging the gap between children and their caregivers by providing information and activities regarding body safety. Through consistent and developmentally appropriate messaging, the caregiver will be equipped with the tools to engage and communicate with their child about how to keep their bodies safe thereby reducing the opportunity for child abuse.

Dr. Lauren Hodges, founder of Kula Empowered has spent years interviewing child victims of sexual abuse and found there is an opportunity to assist caregivers in discovering ways to speak to their children about their bodies to help keep them safe. Lauren has spoken to countless parents who have shared similar sentiments about how they wished they could have prevented the harm their child experienced. Lauren has consulted with experts in the field of child abuse prevention, both nationally and internationally, and has incorporated dynamic stakeholder feedback in the development of the mobile application.
